Hello fellow PJ'ers,

Robert FARLOW arrived "Canada' 1801 and Ann DYER who came free on the same
ship with their infant daughter. Both were aged 23.

Robert and Ann raised nine children who all lived to adulthood - Maria,
Harriet, Ann, William, Christiana, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Robert, James. All
but the eldest were born in the Hawkesbury. Most married, settled and died
in Wilberforce, Windsor, Richmond, Yarramundi and Freemans Reach.

The surnames of their spouses are Dunstan, Nowland (x3!), Greentree, Sibrey,
Howell, Markwell, Baldwin, Slater, Cross.

By 1805 Robert and his family were living in the Hawkesbury area on a farm,
renting 10 acres from Mr Palmer. In June 1823 Robert received a grant of 80
acres fronting Currency Creek. In 1826 he purchased a further 50 acres next
door from William Field.

The 1828 Census shows that Robert had become the owner or lessee or 222
acres comprising a number of parcels of rural land including a town block in
the main street of Wilberforce. Of this 222 acres only 91 acres were cleared
and cultivated. It also states that he owned 20 cattle and 19 horses.

Robert also procured a further 50 acres of Freeman's Reach portion of a
property called "Stillwell's Farm" in 1838. His remaining land comprised of
12.5 acres at Freeman's Reach called "Lissons Farm", 15 acres close to
Wilberforce and a further 12.5 acres in the same area.

In later life Robert held the licence of the Junction Inn at Wilberforce,
which was taken up in due course by his son William.

Robert and Ann died in 1853 (within 3 weeks of each other) and are both
buried in St. John's, Wilberforce.

Kind regards,
Lisa
