Hi Margaret

Are you certain that you have the correct James Cullen ? James Cullen of the
Atlas 11 is listed in the 1822 Muster as Under Gaoler at Parramatta and in the
1828 NSW Census is listed as having a similar occupation. Whilst I am not
suggesting you are incorrect there were many other convicts with that name to
arrive - for example, there was a James Cullen who arrived after his trial in
Wicklow 1826 and also received a Life sentence and another who arrived in 1820
after being tried in Wicklow in 1819. The others who arrived, although tried at
other places in Ireland may have originated from Wicklow.

Subject: [PJ] James CULLEn 1802

My GGGrandfather was James CULLEN, from Co. Waterford. He was sentenced to life
and arrived in PJ on the "Atlas 2" in 1802. He had a son Edward born in 1833, in
Sydney. Edward CULLEN married a a Jane HARRISON, daughter of James HARRISON
"Earl Of St. Vincent" 1823, and Catherine HOWE "City of Edeinburgh" 1828. I have
not been able to find out who James CULLEN married, or when or where he died. I
believe he was a stone mason by trade.
Also on the "Atlas 2" was another CULLEN, Michael, sentenced to Life and also
from Co. Wexford. I would like to know if he was a relation of James CULLEN.
Hope someone can help
Regards
Margaret (Wilbow) Heywood.
