Gday all, here is what I know of my 3rd great grandfather William Goslett for 1828.



After his arrival in 1826, my first sight of William is in the 1828 census, were he is assigned to Dr William Evens, at Paterson Plains.

It was in the month of November 1828, that the Census - of New South Wales was taken... Here we find our first mention of William.

He is still under sentence - working as an assigned labourer, for a Mr William Evans of Bellevue Paterson Plains, in northern NSW.

His name again had suffered, and was miss-spelt as GASLETT in the Census.

NOTES

Wm Evans age 48 - and Mary A Evans age 49 - his wife, had 2 children, William - 16 and Sarah P.S. - 14.

The EVANS farm was named - "BELLEVUE" in the district of Paterson Plain.

The Farm was in total, 1130 ACRES, of which 127 was already under cultivation and another 301having been cleared.

Stock on the farm, consisted of, 5 Horses, 134 Cattle, and 104 Sheep.



The Farm supported The Evans family of 2 adults & 2 young adults. As well as the 11 assigned convicts working on it.

They employed :- 1 Stockman , 1 House Servant , 1 Gardiner , 7 Labourers & 1 Boat builder . William was one of the labourers.
