Hi Joy

There was no ship noted so I could not make one up :))) He was obviously in
Bathurst and probably worked for Mr. Keane when he was drowned.

I can find no Ticket of Leave for him on the SAG web site, but they don't have
them all listed. I cannot see that he is listed in the 1837 General Return of
Convicts, but again, not all were mustered.

There is no notation on the Indent at all to suggest he received any type of
pardon.

As you are aware the Col. Sec. Index has some of his movements up to 1824 when
he was at Bathurst

All I can suggest is the post 1825 Colonial Letters Index etc produced by Joan
Reese...but realise that this is not readily or easily available for you to
check at Braidwood.

Sorry Joy

regards

G'day Lesley and all,
There is a John JONES on your Convict Death Index, No Ship, No age, stated,
who died at Bathurst 1832.
There is a death registered at Bathurst 1832 for John JONES.
Do you know if his Death Certificate would show more details?
I am trying to bury (well eliminate) John JONES "Atlas" 111 - 1816
transported for life.
