Thanks for your reply to my first posting and questions.
I have posted another query to the group for help.

The Edward RILEY I want was appointed as an constable/inspector at Goat
Island in 1840 (as in Blue books) have not gone though all other years after
this.He apparently was still one in 1844 as far as the story goes!

No age listed or dob or where he came from listed there in Blue books. for
1840 that I could see.
the death certificate I have for Edward RILEY I am sure is wrong? - there
are many Edward RILEY 's listed as you know

The one I want was married to Sophia EYRE - they married by Banns in 1838
Liverpool . SHe dies in 1872 (no information can be obtained from her death
certificate )

Further information on Goat Island and appointment or service info on
Edward RILEY?
Index on Banns - does it list ages? date of birth?
where they came from ? and parents names?

Do you have any infor that may assist in my search ?
