Has anyone been tracing a John Bates Arr. Marquis of Hastings 2, 1827, life
sentence, tried Stafford age 23 occupation labourer, on the permission to
marry, he married Eliza Jane Rea who came free, they married at Bathurst
1843.
Lesley maybe able to tell me if the permission to marry has any more details
as I looked it up on CD at the library.
