Hi Lesley and List,
Last November when I was in Sydney I made a visited to
St. Phillips Church and was told about a Commemorative
Service in February 2005. Here is the information and
a link to their Web site for anyone interested.
Not sure at this stage if I'll be going.
Regards.
Grahame Cheers.

THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST. PHILIP
Church Hill, Sydney

Sunday 6th February 2005 at 3.00 pm

Service to Commemorate the First Christian Service
held in the Colony of New South Wales

The Service will be one of thanksgiving for Christian
witness in our country. It will honour the memory of
the Reverend Richard Johnson who sailed with the First
Fleet.

The Prayer Book used by Richard Johnson during the
voyage of the First Fleet and at the First Service in
New South Wales, together with the Silver Communion
Service given to the new colony by King George III in
1803 will be on display.

We extend a warm welcome to all, particularly those
who are descendants of early settlers.

Afternoon tea will be served after the service.

Preacher: The Rector of St Philip's, The Reverend
David Mansfield
