Hi Grahame

Strange that you should post that, because we talked about it 4 years ago this
month :)) Watkin Tench was Captain Lieutenant of Marines

Could I suggest that you try and either, purchase a copy - there should be many
available on the internet, or failing that borrow it from your library

...and as I said 4 years ago -
I find it better to read a book than read from a computer screen as one can just
dip into it when one likes.....and they are just nice to have

... and Yes, it is worthwhile

Subject: [PJ] Watkin Tench Book

Hi Lesley and List,
Could sks please give me advice on the book, A
Complete Account of the Settlement of Port Jackson by
Watkin Tench.
I would like to know:
How complete is this book?
How factual is it?
When was it written?
Who was or is Watkin Tench? (the name Tench rings a
bell, but I just cannot place it)
Did he write other books about early Australian
history? And what were they.
Any other info would be appreciated.
The reason I ask these questions is because the book
is available from The University of Adelaide Library
Electronic Text Collection and looks interesting, but
I don't want to down load it if it is not worth
reading.
Thank you.
Regards.
Grahame Cheers.
