Hi everyone
Interesting email from Russell. Our ancestor William Davis arrived aboard
Scarborough 1790. According to a booklet from Elizabeth Farm in Parramatta -
John MacArthur and his wife Elizabeth also arrived 1790 aboard Scarborough.
What a different voyage they must have had from a young 6 year old
apprentice enameller convicted of armed robbery who incidentally three times
refused the alternative of transportation to death. Thankfully for my
husband and our grandchildren he was persuaded that life in Port Jackson was
preferable to the hangman's noose!
