A topic of interest to me is what happened to Convicts immediately on their
arrival in Sydney.
Was there a single location that all arrivees were processed through? Or did
they have to wait on the ship until accommodation was arranged (I guess that
would depend on the year of arrival)?

My particular convict, Mary MAZAGORA, may have been an exception as she
arrived on the Mary Ann on 19th Jan 1816 with 2 kids, with husband actually
arriving the previous day on the Fanny as a Free Settler.

I wonder what accomodation would be provided? Would the two be allowed to
live together immediately?

Maybe someone could direct me to a good book which decribes the living
conditions faced on arrival?
