I have read with interest the recent postings. In my family there is a
story there just waiting to be found but I think I will never find the
answer. I have often had the "feeling" there was aboriginal heritage in
my tree but have never found any proof. One of my sons is quite often
asked about his "aboriginal heritage" (even by police on one occasion
when he was just walking down a road!!!!). We know of nothing.
However, after my Dad died I typed up his hand written memories. He
distinctly remembered as a very young child (1920's) of one day being
out with his father and meeting an old aboriginal man. When introduced
to the old man he said "Oh yes - the little white piccaninny"!!! Of
course, the old ones are all gone but I somehow think they would have
clammed up anyway!!! Regards to all on the list - I really enjoy all the
postings.
