Sydney Herald 1831

Police Incidents

Davy Jones for leaving his masters farm at Hunter’s River, since 14th May last,
and commencing business on his own account, was ordered to be sent to the
nearest Bench of Magistrates to be dealt with.

***

Mary Foil, for foiling her mistress in everything that was required of her, by
saying that she had not been reared to such work, and could not lower herself by
stooping to such an indignity, was sent to the factory for one month to get her
hand in.
