Apparently the 1908 contest was a one off contest.

Hi,

Can anyone give me any newspaper, or other leads about my great aunt's
daughter, Jessie (aka Daisy) Clifton. She apparently won the Miss Queensland
contest in 1908 and was runner up in the Miss Australia contest the same
year. I'm assuming there ought to be a written record, and hopefully a photo
or two somewhere of these events.

If anyone has any further information about her, I'd be greatful. She would
have been the final beneficiary of her father's estate which was probated in
Queensland and worth about 28,000 pounds in 1908. (Her brother Lt. Ralph
Clifton died of wounds in WW1 and I don't believe had any children). The
estate was put in trust at that time. She subsequently married Herbert
Arthur Montefiore on 1914-07-14 (Qld BDM index.); moved to England in the
1920's or 1930's and sadly died in an air crash in 1969 when the light plane
she was flying in piloted by her son Ralph collided with another light
aircraft.
