Hi Marie, I did a search of the Courier Mail and did not come up with anything. I will have another trawl later today for you. It is possible that the family did not have a public notice anyway, this happens a lot now, or they may have used a very brief memorial notice in a local paper.
Perhaps you may be able to get in touch with the person who informed you of the passing.
