I don't know much about the SAUNDERS McGRATH connection, as yet. That's my
next project. I get the impression from what I've heard in the family,
that Harriett Anne FRANCIS (my ggrandfather's sister) was a bit of a wild
lass. She seemed to have a few children before married then married twice
and had more children from the first marriage.

On 27 February 1876, a seventh child, a daughter, Harriet Ann , was born to
Esau and Elizabeth in Queensland.

Harriet was enrolled in the Mt Whitestone State School in 1889. The family
farm was halfway between both schools. Esau disagreed with certain school
policies, so the children shifted between the two schools.

Harriet or Annie, as she was known, had children before her marriage:
1.Lilly FRANCIS, born 18 Jan 1892 and died at 10 weeks of age on 28
March .
2.Ethel May FRANCIS, born 31 March 1894.
3.??Isabel Annie FRANCES, born 8 March 1898 to Annie FRANCES.

The 1903 electoral roll has Annie McGRATH living in North Gatton and
employed in domestic duties.

Annie and William had the following children:
1.Annie Elizabeth McGRATH, born 30 July 1901
2.Ivy Myrtle McGRATH, born 12 December 1903
3.William (Bill) Lawrence McGRATH, born 24 Aug 1907
4.George Joseph McGRATH, born 13 August 1910
5. Alma Winnifred McGRATH, born 18 October 1915

On 8 May 1922, Harriet married John William SAUNDERS (Jack) .

The 1922 electoral roll lists them as living at Burrandowan at Nanango in
Qld. John William was a selector and Harriet was engaged in home duties.

The 1934 electoral roll shows they were living at Kingaroy. Jack was a
labourer.

Jack died on 2 Feb 1949 .

Hi Judy

These names ring a bell, but I do not have them in my database.
SAUNDERS and McGRATH are family names, but not with a FRANCIS.
On 15 Oct 1900 , Harriet married William John McGRATH
