Hello All,

I discovered this list last night in the Rootsweb newsletter. I hope it is
successful.

My Grandfather's family - WENDSCHLAG - came to Moreton Bay from
Hamburg on the Johann Cesar in 1863 and settled in Ipswich. I have all the
subsequent Australian records except one - that of the death of my
great-grandmother in c.1870.

There is no entry in the Death Indexes and the Archives won't search the
original registers for me. I have also searched the Ipswich Cemetery
records but they don't go back far enough. The Lutheran Archives in
Adelaide also have no such records. One day when I have a lot of time I
will search the Ipswich and Brisbane newspapers of the time.

I would be interested to hear if anyone knows of any other records of
the time which might help me in my search - for example, Ipswich Lutheran
parish records.
