Final listing on the family of Christian Frederick PERKE and Johanna Maria
Louisa Charlotte KUNKEL.
In addition to the three children already listed, Christian and Johanna had
either 5 or 6 other children. (Christian's death certificate shows 9
children in total, whereas Johanna's shows 8. Apart from their 4 children
living in Australia, all the other children are listed as deceased).
Another daughter Amelia Augusta Albertina PERSKE had migrated to Australia
before the rest of the family, however appears to have joined them later.
She arrived in Brisbane on 1 August 1872 aboard the "Reichstag" from Hamburg
as a 20 year old single female. Her name appears directly under a family
with the surname of DISCHER from Ludwigshorst, Pomeramia. It could be that
she accompanied this family as this surname is the same of Albertina PERSKE,
nee Discher, wife of Gotthief. (see next message)
Amelia Augusta Albertina PERSKE was born in 1850 in Pielo Germany and
married in 1877 at Townsville to Thomas WILLIAMS. He was a sugar farmer and
they lived at Margam Villa, Kalkie new Bundaberg. I understand that this
farm became the CSIRO's sugar experimental farm after Thomas William's
death.
Amelia Augusta Albertina died in Townsville on 10 November 1933 and is
buried with her husband in Bundaberg Cemetary. Thomas Williams died on 21
July 1911.
They had 8 children as listed below:
Ada Mary, born 8 March 1879 married Thomas Martin RALSTON 29/11/1910
Bertha Wilhelmina, born 20 September 1881 married Harold Goodwin ALLOM on
6/2/1912.
Clara Deborah, born 16 September 1882 died aged 3
Thomas Rees, born 10 April 1884
David Beynon, born 8 May 1885 died aged 5 months
Oliver Wendell, born 9 August 1886 died 20/4/1943
Augusta Antoinette, born 22 June 1888
Ruby Constance, born 13 March 1890
