I too, have been watching the lists for a while and am now stirred to
contribute to the HAUPT segment.

John Conrad HAUPT married Sarah Maria HAMPSON. They lived at Mt Perry, not
far from Gayndah in Queensland at the end of the 1800s and possibly to the
1920s when Sarah died.

John Conrad is probably related to my great grandfather, Balthaser
HAUPT (1833 - 1885). This is based on a comment by my grand-uncle Ernest
(below) and the fact they both came from Sax Weimar, in Prussia. Balthaser
married Friedericka BORCHARDT in 1865. They had several children.

Conrad (11 October 1866 to 2 April 1935);
Sarah (9 May 1868 to 21 June 1952);
Edmund (21 April 1870 to ?);
Dorothea (24 January 1872 to 1 February 1950);
William (27 March 1874 to 25 May 1965);
Fredericka (12 April 1876 to 21 July1963);
Donald (14 May 1878 to 12 July 1970);.............. my grandfather
Balthaser (13 August 1880 to 5 November 1945);
August (18 July 1882 to 23 September 1941);
Ernest (18 August 1884 to 30 October 1976).

An interesting connection with the FROMHOLZ family (Stan Clark's posting of
the same day as yours, 18 May) followed Balthaser's death in 1885. In 1892,
Friedericka married Johann FROMHOLZ. They had one child Rosena.

I was pleased to see your posting and am keen to follow up your HAUPT
information.
