Hi all,

I would just like to pass on my gratitude to the Brisbane State Library
Archive Service. They have been wonderful. I sent off a query to them
about the "Charles Dickens" and they have not only sent me clippings
from the papers about the sickness on board but also a copy of the
actual passenger list. The covering letter said because the search took
less then 2 hours there was no charge. What a great service!

Could someone from the list please phone (only if it is a local call for
you) Stephanie Ryan, Senior Librarian, Family History 07-3480 7775 and
thank her for me.

Also can anyone on the list read German and translate the following
column headings from the passenger list? The first 3 are pretty clear
as Surname, Name, Age but then I'm lost.
Zuname
Vorname
Alter.
Bisheriger Wohnort.
Im Staate oder in der Provinz.
Bisheriger Stand oder Beruf.
Davon sind.

Any help or pointers appreciated.

Cheers,
Kate
