Hi listers,
I am wondering if any of you researchers of our German descendants have come across my family of DEPPER in Queensland. While I have them all accounted for, I would like to gather in any other human interest stories about the family.My Michael DEPPER arrived from Oestrich Hessen Germany on the" La Rochelle" in Aug. 1863 along with his third wife Elizabeth PETRI and his family from the first marriage to Elizabeth MULLER. The children's names were

(1)Johan Georg who later returned to Germany and married there.

(2)Martin-- my greatgrangfather-- who married Phillippa WERRY( nee Pearce--she was from Cornwall ) Martin had been a foreman on the farm that Phillippa and her husband William Werry had been working, in Short Pocket ( St Lucia )
Some of the families mentioned in " A Brief History of Ironside School and the District " who were also in the same area were McCaffrey, Carmody, Burnie , Deller, Pitty, Skinner, Moore, and Carr.

(3) Barbara who married James LINES (LYONS )
(4) Elizabeth who married Peter Paul HOLZNECHT on 24th Aug 1866 in Brisbane.
The 2 DEPPER Streets in Brisbane are named after MARTIN DEPPER , who lived in Toowong and St Lucia.He died in 1914
