I was interested to see the following mention of Anna
BOTHMANN in your list of German Connections.

1. Johann Heinrich David WESCHE (Henry) (16Sep1838 Liebenburg,

> 13Jan1869 Bowen to Anna Margarethe CLAUSSEN (28Feb1847 Friedrichskoog,
> Holstein, Germany- 25Oct1934 Mackay. arrived 7Feb1865 "Beausite". (d/-
> Tiesse CLAUSSEN & Anna BOTHMANN).

My husband's grandmother was Marie Bothmann, the only child
born in Australia to Heinrich BOTHMANN b 12.8.1837, Helse, Schleswig -
Holstein and Margaretha Christina Rebecca BRAASCH.b 16.6.1843, Mechlenberg,
Sclirwevin, Germany.( Arrived Adelaide on 3.1.1883 aboard the Catania.) They
had 9 children. Their son Freidrich Peter John BOTHMANN moved to Queensland
with his half-brother, August REIMERS, and married there. The daughters
remained around Nhill/Rainbow, Victoria and in Adelaide.

I wonder if our Heinrich is connected to your Anna. Do
you have any other information on Anna?
