Hi. I've just found the Germans in South-East Qld list and I am wondering if
any one out there has any information on Ammermann's. My great grandfather
and his brother migrated to Brisbane in 1906 and 1911. My ggrand father
arrived in 1911 and all I know about him is on a birth extract for him. He
was born Frederick Bernhard Ammermann in Langholt, Prussia on 28 June 1886
to (?) Frederic Ammermann and Maria Birkhoff, and he was of Lutheran
Religion. According to his marriage certificate both of his parents were
deceased when he married in 1917. All I know of his brother is that he
arrived in 1906 and married Wilhemine Theile. My grandfather doesn't know a
great deal about his father and knows nothing about our german ancestors.
I'm having trouble trying to find out any more information. Could anyone
give me a few pointers on where to start looking? Thanks for any help.
