Hi Pat!

Frank passed my e-mail on to you last year about researching the KAPERNICK
and BEUTEL family you didn't come up with anything much and requested more
information. I said I would get back to you with further information.

As far as the KAPERNICKS go I have the following information: Wilhelm
Friedrich KAPERNICK arrived in Moreton Bay in 1880 with his wife Hermine
Anna Luise SCHMIDT and was born in Stendell, Brandenburg, Prussia on 7 Mar
1850 and died 6 May 1915 in Rosewood, Qld of heart disease and asthma. On
the ship with him were his oldest children Marie Auguste KAPERNICK, Anne
Marie Hermine KAPERNICK, Hermine Augusta Louisa KAPERNICK and Wilhelm
KAPERNICK. They had further children and settled in Tallagalla. Both
Wilhelm and his wife and some of the children are buried in Tallagalla
cemetery I think some of the burials might have been buried as Kaepernick -
originally the "a" in KAPERNICK had an umlaut.

In 1888 Wilhelm was followed by two brothers: Carl Friedrich Wilhelm and
Hermann Friedrich Wilhelm KAPERNICK. On the ship with them was Carl's first
wife Wilhelmina "Augusta" ZIMMERMANN the daughter of Johann ZIMMERMANN and
Catherina SCHMIDT and their two oldest children: Emilie Augusta KAPERNICK
and Robert Paul KAPERNICK (nothing further is known about him). His wife
Augusta died soon after arrival and he later re-married 12 Jan 1890 in
Zillmere Qld (marriage registered as HAPERNICK) to Emilie Auguste Ottilie
ZIMITAT the daughter of Johann Ludwig ZIMITAT and Auguste WILDE. I believe
Carl may have had property around Laidley at one stage but he and Emilie did
eventually settle in Murgon where they both died and are buried in Murgon
Cemetery Hermann married in 1891, at the brides residence in Marburg, Marie
Johanna Wilhelmina Augusta BEUTEL ( although she is buried in Toowoomba
Cemetery under the name Wilhelmina Mary) the Daughter of Christian Friedrich
BEUTEL and Wilhelmine Rohue.
