Hello List
Some years back, at Qld State Archives, Runcorn I took notes from a journal that had the rations and the mess number for a 1878 journey from Britain to Maryborough: Maryborough Immigration Agents Reg of Rations on "Glamis" .The reference was IMA 3/18.
It was interesting reading. My great grandfather aged 26 received 6 rations while his female cousin aged 20 got 10 rations! It was also interesting that six young unmarried people were all in the same mess together.
I can add it to my extensive "list of things to do" - check it out at the Archives myself - but I'd appreciate if someone in the know, in the meantime, could tell me if they know first hand of similar lists for German ships to Queensland?
Thank you.
~Di R.
