A general query to the list  .....

To flesh out family history information and look for contemporary happenings, birth, marriage and death notices etc, I am considering getting all my dates together and reading through the relevant archive files (say 1865 onwards, to 1920 or so) of the:

"Toowoomba Chronicle";   and the  "Darling Downs Gazette".

My question is:  Are archival copies (available for access, for research purposes -- as hard copy or on microfilm) held in Toowomba (e.g. at the Newspaper offices), or am I best to go to the Queensland State Public Library (or somewhere else)????

I am quite flexible as to travel (live in Sydney).

Thanks in advance

James Huey
