Where oh where would I find confirmation that my illustrious ancestor, who
was also a 'wanderer and improvident" was supported by his family, who
purchased for him the "Freedom of the City of London" for 100 pounds, which
would provide him with bed and lodgings in London whenever he required
same".

This is the same bloke who arrived SA 1837 with wife and 2 kids, left them
and went off sailing around the world, only to return to NSW 10 years later
with other wife and family, and looks to have spent years living in Northern
Queensland "where conditions were extremely difficult and primiitive." Life
was not always so tuff!
