Hi all,
I am trying to find out a bit about my husband's ancestor David John COOK
who arrived in Adelaide in the late 1860's (we think) from the UK. I cannot
find any records of his arrival - the family story says he jumped ship as a
teenager! He married Ellen Letitia Eldred LOWER in 1884 at Port Adelaide and
they lived in and around Adelaide until they separated. He travelled
around SA looking for work after they were separated but we don't know where
or when. I wondered if anyone has any census or electrol records that may
give us some detail of his life. I realise its a fairly common name but...
I know he died in his 80's in Melbourne Vic in the 1930's (can't find
exactly when or where buried but working on it).
