Hi David,
what you need is "South Australian Registration Districts of
Births, Deaths & Marriages" by Beryl Schahinger published by SAGen & Her
Socy 1998. Beryl has written a great resource book which should be in
the hands of everyone researching SA BDM records. This is the
definitive resource including large maps for every district showing all
small places and boundaries and suggesting where to look if you can't
find what you are after. The Place Index is superb. Almost all of the
district
records were filmed by SAGHS and you can view them at the SAGHS library
on Unley Rd.
Beryl talks specifically about missing info and notes problems with the
Dist of Willunga records not being filmed but no reference to problems
with Port Adelaide.
You are looking for 1906-07 which according to Beryl is in Book 19. She
also notes an Index exists for the period 1870-1908 . She notes records
are held at SAGHS and Port Adelaide Library also microfiche at Enfield
Library.
The book is so informative it makes me wonder that we are able to find
any records at all.
Regards, Pam
