Subject: [AUS-SAGEN] SHIPPING 1887 Help Needed
Date: Tue, 2 Jul 2002 19:31:27 +1000
Some years ago I received an email from some kind people reading "the only shipping record of South Australia have been on Janicke R54/87. This was a notification of arrival in 1887 which was made in the Adelaide Observer." I am trying to find how my grandfather came to Australia from Germany. His name was Albert Wilhelm Gustav Jaenicke, or Wilhelm Gustav Albert Janicke.
Could anyone tell me what the R54/87 represents and how can I follow up on this information from Queensland.
Thank you for any help given
Bette from Bribie Island
