Many thanks to everyone who responded to my request.

Walter Frederick was found as Walter Frederick SUMERTON born 1857-11-22 in
Gawler.
He married Sarah Fanny BAILEY in 1886 and had two sons, Walter Edward in
1887 and John Henry in 1888.
By 1892 he was in Victoria where he married again - to Fanny Laura PLUMB
and had four more sons.
I have been unable to find out what happened to his first wife.
