Thank you very much for the replies to date.

My difficulty is how/when/where did John Colmer enter "Australia". I
have not been able to identify him in any UK census. (A second name
might help!) The earliest factual date I have is his marriage to
Florence Edith Facey in Silverton NSW on 22-10-1887.

I have their marriage certificate which confirms that he was previously
married, carpenter, ex Cornwall. I am trying to trace him prior to 1887.

Clement Colmer & Stella Grace Florence from Glenelg were my grandparents.
