Subject: SOME LIGHT RELIEF

Hi! Fellow Listers

In response to the general air of seriousness, not only in the community but
on this list of late, I want to inject some light relief.

It amuses me when I see how names of people - particularly at birth - were
misspelt because of the accent of a parent. One example was a child
registered as "Glod" FRASER - his Scottish father had actually meant him to
be named Claude. And another child in our family had an American father.
Given the fact that the girl was registered as " Moitle" instead of Myrtle.
I suspect he was from the Bronx in New York.

What sort of examples have others come across?

Cheers from Canberra, Home of the Big Lie
