Hi
I am searching for the names HOUGH & HEYWOOD.
JOHN HOUGH (b22/01/1834, at Sugar Meadow Oldham, Lancs, to JAMES HOUGH & ANN DAVIES), migrated to Melb ex-Liverpool aboard the "TITAN" 22/05/1857.
ELIZABETH HEYWOOD (b1839, Oldham, Lancs., to JOHN HEYWOOD & ANN SHAW), migrated to Melb ex-Liverpool aboard the "Donald McKay", 07/05/1863. Also on board was MARGARET HOUGH (b13/06/1832, Sugar Meadow Oldham, Lancs), sister of JOHN HOUGH.
ELIZABETH HEYWOOD & JOHN HOUGH married at Bendigo, 02/08/1863.

Our relative was JOHN JOSEPH HOUGH, b 1868 at BLUE SPUR, HOKITIKA to ELIZABETH HEYWOOD & JOHN HOUGH.
He married WINIFRED MARY CLANCY at Jerilderie in NSW 1892)
One of their children, ELIZABETH ALICE HOUGH b 29/07/1905 was my partner's grandmother.
I have also been tracing the family backwards (JOHN HOUGH's parents and siblings) as they were all born at SUGAR MEADOW, OLDHAM, LANCS. I have managed to contact with the family of MARGARET HOUGH b 13/06/1832, JOHN HOUGH's sister.
I am interested in all of these two families, and have often wondered what happened to Elizabeth & John's siblings, as well as their children. I'd really appreciate any help.
Also, I work at Albany Local Studies where we have a number of excellent resources. We also have the local newspapers (they had a variety of names) indexed from 1880 to (will eventually be to the current day) 1970s, so far:-). This is an excellent tool for gathering info about people.
