Hi Cyril,
Where has your information come from that Daniel was born in VDL in 1823?

There is no listing on the Tasmanian Pioneer Index for his birth and no
couple in the index named James Samms and Eliza Warren.

I have a Daniel Samms, born van diemen¹s land 1823, son of James Samms and
Eliza Warren.

None of these appear in a convict register, and I can¹t find them in a free
settler database.

Can anyone shed light on them please?
