Subject: [AUS-TAS-SURNAMES] Roll Call
Date: Sat, 31 Aug 2002 05:26:57 EDT
Hello everyone
as the list is growing I think perhaps it may prove worthwhile to have a
rollcall of the surnames that each of us is researching in the state.
This will start on Monday (to give everyone time to check their mail).
Things to remember:
1:Try to include the surname in capital letters in the subject line, as well
as in the body of the email. This makes for quick and easy reading.
2: The date they were born and the place.
3: The marriage date and place (if applicable).
4: The spouses name and date of birth (maiden name of wife is always a great
idea)
You may wish to include other details such as any children, places of
employment, dates of death and burial places etc. In other words anything
that is likely to help you piece together your family surname's history.
For those of you who have resources that may assist people to locate their
family names, you might like to list those ... keeping in mind any copyright
issues that may apply. Some may like to make suggestions that will also
assist listers to update their research as we should all remember some people
are new to family history and it is those with the knowledge that teach them
new and exciting things.
Bright Blessings everyone.
