Hi everyone,
For those who don't already know Tasmanian Birth, Death & Marriage
certificates pre 1900 are available on microfilm for the cost of a
photocopy. Here in Tasmania they are available at the Launceston
Reference Library and the Archives Office of Tasmania in Hobart (there
may be other places as well, but not sure). They may also be
available at large mainland libraries. I am posting this message
because I have just heard for the second time of a person from the
mainland requesting a pre 1900 certificate from Tas RGD with the
resulting cost being much more. If you can't get to a library on the
mainland, that has the microfilms please try posting a message to this
list as I am sure that one of the Tassie subscribers would soon get
one for you.
