Hi Graeme,
You don't indicate what area you are in, but many libraries and societies
would have the Tasmanian Pioneer Index on fiche and/or CD ROM, so you can
confirm details. Some of the larger libraries also have the films of the
original registers to 1899 so for the cost of a printout you can have a
copy of the original record.
When you say the info was retrieved from the Archives Office, do you mean
they have provided details from their official records, or that you have
accessed them from Family Link on the net ?
If the latter be careful as many entries there are assumed or provided by
others, see the explanation of symbols on the site.
