Hi Lorraine,
The indexes to deaths and marriages only go up to 1919 (births to 1905).
However if he died in the Burnie area, ther may be a death notice in the
Advocate newspaper, which is available on microfilm in the State Library
and I think some northern libraries. There could also be a notice in the
Examiner, based in Launceston, and also available on film.
Where are you ?
There may also be a reference to his burial on the TAMIOT index fiche, or
Carr Villa index fiche.
Indexes have been done for notices in the Examiner in book form and are
available at the GST and AOT and would be worth checking. It may also be
worth checking the Mercury (Hobart based) as notices often appeared there
if the deceased had family in the south.
