There is a book called "Compelled to Tiers" - "the gripping true
account of an escaped convict amidst the wilderness of 19th
century Tasmania" -
which I think is an account of the life of the bushranger,
Daniel Priest, by one of his descendants. This *may* have a reference
to the incident mentioned above.
