Yes, I might have an interest in this Henry Samuel BENJAMIN.

Firstly, thanks must go to Jenny Fawcett for her SUPERB site with all her
Tasmanian indexes.

Through this site, I happened to find an entry which surprised me, namely
that my ancestor Thomas BURBURY was transferred (while a convict) from
Samuel BENJAMIN, Oatlands, to Thomas SALMON, Oatlands (Hobart Town Gazette,
27 September 1833).

Sally, was this Henry Samuel BENJAMIN known as Samuel? If so, he might be
the same person. Wonder why a hotel licensee thought he might need our
Thomas? Thomas' wife (who was with him at this time) Mary was apparently
the daughter of a publican ... ;-)

Best regards,

Douglas
