Could SKS (some knowledgeable soul) please give me details of Tasmanian

When did the Mercury, Examiner, Advocate, Advertiser and Hobart Town Gazette begin
and/or end publishing? What others are/were there?
Dear Jackie,
When I began my genealogical research in 1989 I visited the serials section of the
State Library of Tasmania and they printed out for me a copy of the list of every
( known) newspaper ever printed in Tasmania and the dates when they were in
operation. I have that list at home in Tassie (I'm now in sunny Queensland) and
don't have access to it. However, if you contact the library, they may make a
copy for you for the cost of the photocopying plus postage if necessary.
I must admit that this list has been invaluable to me with my research. You would
be surprised to know how my newspapers were actually in operation since the
beginning of the Hobart Town Gazette which began in the hands of Andrew Demp in
May, 1816. This was a one off subscription copy. The regular printing began in
June, 1816.
Hope this information is of help.
Cheers,
Margie Wise.
