Dear Keith,
Just reading your posting about the ship Janus (good on you) on the Tassie list and your family name rang a bell.
Next to my computer was a transcription of some Tassie marriages I did years ago and one was a Maynard. Just a shot in the dark, but I thought you may have some connection;
19NOV1855 Charles Gregory MAYNARD (58yrs) Clerk
m Susan WHITBOURNE (41yrs) Spinster, Hobart StGeorge C of E.
I hadn't copied the full certificate for some reason.
I'm not sure where Susan would fit in to my Whitbourne family and I was hoping you may know something about this pair.
