Subject: Michael NASH - lost in Tassie

After an interview in a Limerick Court-room in December, 1849, Michael finally landed a job as a Convict on the "Rodney" sailing from Cobh, Cork,in 1851, for an 18-month holiday in Gibraltar, and then completed his cruise on the "St.Vincent" with the last contingent of convicts to Hobart in 1853.

Does anyone know if he made it through his sentence, or is he still down there having a good time ? - we haven't heard a peep out of him since, and the suspense is driving us up the wall ! He was only supposed to be gone 7 years.

Please let me know if you have heard of him, so we can bring him home; this is no time of year for such an old bloke to be out in the cold in Tasmania.

Thanks if you can help.

Adrian ( Queensland )
