Subject: Catherine LOWRY - DEVERELLE, per Rajah
Date: Sat, 07 Oct 2000 10:19:22 +1100

Hello eveyone, I have recently confirmed that Catherine LOWRY, convict
per Rajah (1841) was my GGG Grandmother. Another researcher has very
kindly sent me a photocopy of her extensive convict record.
Unfortunately the document is very difficult to read (in part because of
the photocopy in part because of the writing). I won't be in Hobart
until Christmas time so can't view the microfilm until then. In the
meantime, I thought it worth checking with these lists to see whether
anyone else is researching Catherine - or her husband James DEVERELL.

I'm also interested in any information on the journey of the Rajah and
on the Female Factory at Launceston around 1841 as Catherine seems to
have been sent there on arrival.

Whether or not you can help, if you're also interested in Catherine and
James please let me know and I'll let you know if anything new turns up.

Cheers, Lynne (Canberra)
