Hi Fellow Genealogists

My ancestor Patrick CLANCY came to Australia as a guard on a convict ship
called the Eliza. It arrived in Tasmania in 1848/1849. Patrick was in the
27th Regiment of Foot and was pensioned out fo the Army. He was discharged
in Glasgow after serving 13 years in South Africa. Patrick's wife Mary and
their 4 children arrived in Tasmania by means unknown from places unknown.
Patrick's 4 children included Patrick Jnr, Mary and possibly Jane.

Patrick settled in Campbelltown with his family where he was a policeman he
died there and is buried in the Catholic Cemetry, his date of death off his
headstone is 18 May 1859. Mary moved to Mangana with her son Patrick.
Patrick Jnr seems to have lost contact with his sisters around this time.
We have a rich oral history but it makes little mention of his sisters.

Patrick Jnr married Mary BRADY in 1861 they had 10 children:
Jane (mar James FITZPATRICK)
Mary Gertrude (mar Cecil ABEL then Frank GOURLAY),
Lucy (mar Joesph HEPBURN)
Clare (mar Ernest REIHER)
Anne (mar Peter DOWNS)
James (mar Angela MARTIN)
William (mar Jane WEST then Alice ALEXANDER),
Emily (spinster)
Edward (bachelor)
Daniel (drowned as a child).

I am looking to trace the offspring of these families and also Patrick
Seniors other three children. Oral family history relates that Mary married
a MURPHY, and another daughter possibly Jane married a JORDAN. I have been
unable to find records for any of these marriages.

IF you can be of any assistance or I can assist you with the research I have
already done on some of the lines please drop me a line.

Regards

Laine Clancy
