Hi People

couldn't help myself ... need to put in my two 'bobs' worth.

The LDS site (from memory) actually states that the data is 'unstable' and
strongly advises that it should be used purely as a guide.

It was never intended to be an index of BMD's it was put together for the
purposes of recording family sacraments which is why their are little or no
deaths recorded. Death is not a sacrament. Also many of the parishes in the
UK would not permit the LDS's to transcribe their records.

There definitely is a greater instability with the patron and privately
submitted records and I personally have taken submitters to task over the
often deliberate errors they have submitted. The question should be
considered as to whether these people are paid by the LDS's if they are it is
a fraudulent double edge sword. And such a sad thing to take place.

However, the purpose of my post was to remind people that the LDS database is
a guide and not the actual BDM register.
