Hi Carol & interested listers,

The Plummer/Drew connection I know of is Peter Henry PLUMMER and Mary Ann
DREW. One of their sons, Arthur PLUMMER (b. 1899) only died last year (or
was it 2001 - I have the date somewhere). Arthur PLUMMER's first job as a
young boy was to drive old Charles ELLIS from his home in Richmond to his
"Riversdale" and "Colebrookdale" properties. Charles ELLIS (son of William
Henry Ellis of Green Ponds General Store and Dysart House fame) died in
1909! The PLUMMER family had been ploughing and harvesting contractors
around Campania for generations. From memory, they are mentioned in the
letters of Florence Kearney ("Letters to Anne", edited by G.R. Skemp)
regarding ploughing done on "Carrington", Richmond, in the 1870's. Peter
Henry PLUMMER's father, William PLUMMER, was I think working for William
KEARNEY in the 1850's. He was certainly living in a house owned by Kearney
at Native Corners in 1858.
