The old stone house that Mike talks about was the overseer's house for the
convict station close by. I think it might later have been used by overseers
of the shot tower as well. It is called "Acton".
There is an old farm house right on the top of the Bonnet, lying back a bit
in the trees. Very old.
Perhaps you could get a book on the history of Brown's River. I had one
recently that had good photos. I can't remember who wrote it.
I grew up in Taroona as well.
