Lorraine
Maria actually married Roger Royle in Pontville. They then came to Victoria
after the birth of their first 2 daughters and the death of her mother and
step father Frederick Henry Byron aka Henry Byron.
It has been a mystery for some time now.
Maria c 26 December 1836 Hobart Town daughter of John Nicol a Carpenter and
Mary
Maria m Roger Royle in Pontville 31 May 1856 daughter of Mary Ann Nichols
(no father listed)
Maria died 2 October 1913 d of Maria Nicholas
Henry Byron was a hotel keeper and died a couple of years after Mary ann.
I have no idea where John Nicol went or came from I only have his name
on the christening. nor do I have a maiden name for Mary Ann or where she
came from.
I have so many variations of the name nicol and a big full stop on all other
info.
