Hi Linda,Dianne,Douglas and list

In 1834,my gg grandmother's sister,Lavinia Lord,married the artist and
composer,Henry Mundy.Their first child,Susan,was born at 'Ellinthorpe'.I
believe Henry was a teacher at the school at 'Ellinthorpe'.

Interestingly,in 1841,another sister,Cecilia Lord,married John Leonard
Dowling, son of Rev.Henry Dowling at Avoca.Their first six children were
born at Campbelltown.Sons were George,Alfred,Aubin,Francis,Kilner and
William.Just coincidence ? Or were they the ancestors of the present
owners of 'Ellinthorpe' ?

Dear Linda, and List,

There is an article about 'Ellinthorp Hall', by Geoffrey Stilwell, in
the published papers of the Tasmanian Historical Research Association
which might be of interest:

G.T. Stilwell, 'Mr and Mrs George Carr Clark of "Ellinthorp Hall",
Tasmanian Historical Research Association Papers and Proceeding, Vol. 11
No. 3, April 1963 pp.72-109.

With best wishes

Karl von Stieglitz' book "A Short History of Ross" talks a bit about
"Ellenthorpe", and abouts original owner George Carr Clark and its later
owners, the Brown family. Not sure who ownes or lives at "Ellinthorp
Hall" now, but as far as I know the Dowlings are still owners of
"Ellenthorpe".

The short booklet "Education at Ross" written by my mother (Wendy
Burbury) also gives a brief mention to the school at "Ellinthorp Hall".
